Anger Management
Management is an art of getting things done through application of various resources. It helps an individual and the organization in accomplishing desired goals and the objectives through application of its different tools and technique. So a good management assures of positive and fruitful results. The way a good management can turn a bankrupt organization into profit making body similarly our personal life can also be changed from heaven to hell and vice versa through the anger management. One side anger management can help in shaping ones personality on the other hand have enough potential to distort it too.
What is anger management ? Dictionary says ‘Anger management is the process of learning to recognize signs that you're becoming angry, and taking action to calm down and deal with the situation in a positive way. Anger management doesn't try to keep you from feeling anger or encourage you to hold it in. Anger is a normal, healthy emotion when you know how to express it appropriately — anger management is about learning how to do this.’
Anger is though not result of spontaneity because there are a lot of factors behind it but if we get aware as to how to express appropriately it gives positive outsome. Aristotle said ‘Anyone can become angry, that is easy...but to be angry with the right person, to the right degree, at the right time, for the right purpose, and in the right way...this is not easy.’ So it becomes necessary to keep into account significance of the anger management in order to reduce its negative impact by identifying the factors which instigate us to become aggressive, violent, abusive and destructive. It is obvious that frustration, vulnerability, powerless, stress, depression, anxiety, provocation, irritation, diseases, poverty, unemployment, greed, lust, desires and so many of such negative factors exist in our surrounding which weaken us causing development of anger, aggressiveness and destructive mindset. All the above elements which instigate anger inside will keep revolving around us therefore if we want to protect ourselves from turning our lives into hell from the negative impacts we need to find out reasons and solution about how to overcome frustration, how to reduce depression, how to get power from being powerless, how to get job and change the status of jobless into an employment etcetera. One can never run away from the elements which instigate anger but to a great extent reduce its level of impacts by identifying the root cause.
Sometimes we have to be angry in order solve some of the problems that is in fact the result of situational requirement on the other hand few moments of anger becomes unavoidable. But the fact is that the impact of anger is detrimental it thwarts our personal growth, development therefore managing those destructive moments becomes necessary. Controlling anger – before it controls you. Forecasting, planning are the some of the function of management which need to be applied in order to control the anger. Because if one goes through state of stress or depression we can never expect him responding positively he will definitely be forced to take a destructive steps in anger. So before anger controls him, there is need to get him away from such state so our this step can save him becoming aggressive. Hence planning, strategies and other kind of available resources are very much required to manage the anger so that its destructive impacts on our day today life can be reduced. We can utilize various tools and techniques to reduce the level of anger for instance if one suffers from particular type of ailment where he needs exercise, good diet, good sleep hence instead of ignoring, his requirements needs to be taken care. There is also one significant thing which takes one on threshold of anger that is blind attachment to particular things. Gita says ‘ while contemplating the objects of the sense, a person develops attachment for them, and from such attachment lust develops, and from lust anger arises’.
