                                                                  Chapter - 8


Since both were not supposed to go out anywhere hence they were  passing the time on their beds tossing left right so they didn’t frown over high pitched volume of Tv which shrieked out their pretended sleeping  state. After couple of minutes room boy came seeing them sitting on their respective bed

"Do You need tea, i am going out to bring it ' Room boy  asked folding note of twenty rupees in his hand

" Yes " Avinash said looking at Nisar.

“One for me too and one cigarette ” Nisar nodded

" Two cutting, one cigarette thats all" Room boy asked

" One cigarette for me too" Avinash said smiling

Both waited for tea before going to take bathe, Room boy  came  with tea with  couple of plastic tea cup , Both sipped tea  then moved to bathroom. They had decided to watch matinee show , accordingly both got prepared so that reach  30 minutes before show start.

There were not  big  crowd at counter so they  got ticket easily without standing in queue After watching movie they  came out from theater standing for while at the gate  Just then a well dressed young man wearing spectacle patted Nisar at his back.

"How are you Nisar, did you recognize me" Person asked him moving his hand to him for handshake.

" Why not,  where are you Sameer"  Nisar  inquired   

" Same place, i have come on my annual leave"  Sameer told him  slackening his hand grip on his and came under shed of shop. 

"By the way where are you working now, i mean, did you join somewhere." Sameer enquired.

' Not yet.' Nisar replied

"After coming from KSA  i went UAE but i couldn’t continue there too" Nisar said 

"Nisar, you remember we are meeting after four years" 

" Yes" Nisar replied introducing Avinash to him.

"What happened over there in UAE"  Sameer asked smiling

" Same politics, working in office is not my cup of tea.  Nisar said blatantly.

" By the way how long  will you stay here" Nisar continued

"I am going back on 27th of this month " he said looking at entrance of the gate where somebody  was waiting for him

"Ok enjoy vacation, movie is good, " Nisar said giving glance to Avinash.

“Nisar, you remember i had given you my email address but you didn’t send even single message" 

'You could have also sent the message  i didn’t contact you  because   your email address  got deleted from inbox mistakenly.,' Nisar said

' i have your email address I shall contact you " Sameer said lifted his hand up in air indicating other side to wait some were looking at him.

Ok, some are waiting for you over there, go and enjoy the movie. ' Nisar said 

Sameer took long step towards the gate of theater.

'He was working as QC Engineer with us in same company in KSA. We were also living in same accommodation so we used to spend time  together.' Nisar said about Sameer
"So you had been in KSA too"

"Yes I am paying price for working in middle east. When i didn’t find satisfactory job here and  remained jobless for long. How could i have managed my day today expenses so i would apply for abroad  but i didn,t think    that i shall have to face same problem there too. When i attended interview here in Bombay with company delegates once they  asked me how should they believe  that you will continue in company”

" What happened that caused you to leave job ' Avinash replied

"Politics, unsupportive behavior of colleagues who thought me  either over qualified for that position.  They had come up to that position from bottom by buttering and flattering. Even one had commented once that if i  am so workaholic why don’t work in India. They attributed me dry person but what can i do if  i always thought  about performing my duties instead  involving myself  in  whispering and other gossiping.' Nisar said feebly.

‘Look that restaurant. Terrorists had also attacked on that restaurant in 08” Nisar pointed at the  restaurant while they passed by.

" you told that  you were also  trapped badly aftermath of incident.' Avinash asked

‘Trap  is not pertinent word for the incident  but yes I faced little harassment. Civil  dress men mysterious  followed me right  from guest house, railway station, also on the way where I visited for my works. Later I  assumed they were civil dress policemen.'

what happened then.' Avinash asked curiously

“, After few days they stopped following me”

“What exactly had  happened when that incident had taken place” Avinash asked eagerly.

That  day Nisaar with  group of people were watching Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Competition which was coming on Zee Channel inside the guest house just then two persons entered in looking scared ,taking  heavy breath as if they came running, told manager to  change the channel

' Firing is going on between terrorist and police  near  at CSt station.' One of them said looking on TV

Guest House Manager immediately came with remote and replaced channel .All inside the guest house gathered near Tv. Later it got cleared that it was terrorist attack, Next morning some had checked out as if they knew that present incident will stretch too long. Nisar and few others watched live for three days continuously.

Since Nisar had come from KSA just one weak before.  he decided not to go  home as he thought it would be better to search a job again instead of going home as going home is not solution of his problem emerged after quitting his  job.     

Before the incident everything was fine. One evening  4 policemen came inside guest house for taking details of those who were  living in guest house. It was normal checking as police after every three or four months visited all guest houses in that area  to take details of visitors.  Since Nisar came just few days before the incident so they prodded him more and sometimes also used rough language but one of them saw a book in his bag later he uttered in English.  After almost seven days, three sturdy persons checked in guest house and took bed besides Nisar. In beginning Nisar did not realize later he observed perhaps they were staring at him  mysteriously and were giving suspicious look. He didn’t care it later he found them  following him at railway station, in bogeys and restaurant too . But they  wouldn’t speak to him their suspicious watch panicked  him and this acts continued for almost few days. He persisted in his purpose and took every step very  meticulously, cautiously neither he left guest house nor the area. After few days they stopped coming to guest house but Nisar later realized that they had instructed to owner of the building to keep close watch on him.

Owner of the building couldn’t tell him straightforwardly to leave the guest house but their  annoying activity was enough giving him signal.

One day owner of guest house came with a  sales executive of Mahindra Holidays. He dragged two chairs and made him sit on one of them and sat on another  just near his  bed. He asked sales executive about the holiday package of different locations and would peer at Nisar. His act was showing that he wanted him also to see that brochure of holiday package. Nisar  was observing his ridiculous acts with great amazement but remained silent.
Everyday owner of guest house was annoying Nisar with his behavior he was getting little upset. Meanwhile  Nisar  got a job in BPO  later he  decided to leave that area. Some of his   friends  in BPO were living as paying guest. HR team asked his local residence proof  Nisar requested  the owner of paying guest, showed appointment letter and in return owner of guest house  gave him  local residence proof thus he submitted it in HR Dept. Problem didn’t stop here also. When owner came to know  that he has come from KSA recently  and  incidentally  proof of permanent residence he gave to  owner of guest house was  Xerox of new passport issued by Riyadh Embassy  Later  owner of the paying guest also begun to look at him  suspiciously  since the incident of terrorist attacks was then haunting  in everyone mind. It was Nisar,s  compulsion that he had to stay there.  where he would go, there was no other option before him one of the main disadvantages for his was his status as gulf returner, perhaps looking wealthy too before his friends.

We are to celebrate new year. The way tik tik of second of clock in morning send out message to get ready, make plan of the day similarly count down tik tik of 2019 calls out some of us to make new resolution, new plan for the next year with keeping in account of previous year\s failures and success.Some of us do make new resolution for the next year according to their individual aspiration and capacity. Habits die hard People keep changing their hobbies with the time and circumstances but if anyone of us get addicted to any particular hobby it becomes difficult to quit it easily that is why one had said ‘ Habits die hard.’ Although I disliked company of one of my close acquaintances , Shahrukh, who was known for his cynical behavior and fastidious attitude nevertheless I have always enjoyed his logic and reasons which he used to put during the arguments whenever we used to sit together. One of the realities.... Despite realizing the fact that each one of us makes one's own strategies, planning at one’s own level in order to control the circumstances which directly or indirectly may affect daily life. Sometimes we do succeed in overcoming the circumstances and sometimes we find ourselves helpless before the circumstances.
